Todd Middle School in Briarcliff Manor, NY, may not be the most tech-savvy school in the country, but it's definitely among the most creative.
The school just earned Apple's highest honor, "Teacher of the Year," for the second year in a row, the New York Daily News reports.
"We wanted to demonstrate how we inspire students to imagine and be creative, and show not only the impact technology has on the students' instruction, but also the impact students themselves can have on our school community and on the greater community," Principal Karen Michaelidis says in a video explaining the school's use of iPads and other Apple products.
In one fourth-grade class, students studied the history of New York state and created podcasts to teach other students about what they'd learned, Michaelidis says.
"This is a great example of students using the Apple technology in a way that impacts others because it provides students with a platform to educate others," she adds.
Todd is one of only a handful of schools in the country to earn the designation, which requires teachers to use Apple products in the classroom.
"The designation requires a certain percentage of teachers to be certified and once the newly hired teachers receive their certification, we will be at 100%," Read the Entire Article
