The program, which launched in 2008, serves children in the Tri-Valley area as well as Contra Costa, Santa Clara and San Joaquin counties.

The programs focus on literacy, science, technology, engineering and math education, and cultural arts.

The following organizations received awards for their efforts in STEAM education.

The awards were presented at a ceremony in San Francisco.
